The best lure knocker I’ve ever used I make from a 1 to 1.5 oz. bell sinker and a snap. These are cheap components and you can keep a couple in the box.
Simply put the snap through the eye of the sinker, attach the snap to your line and drop the rig STRAIGHT down to the lure. Then jiggle the weight until it knocks the lure free. Usually, that won’t take long.
It’s saved me many, many lost lures. (sometimes, it’s the only one like it you have and it’s been working!)
