Too early for top waters in East Texas?

The wife and I will be at Hat & Star this Tuesday. I'm wondering if the water is warm enough for topwater fishing?

Does anyone that's been there recently have any tips on lures, presentation and hot spots. My wife is long overdue for a lunker. Thanks!

Hey Larry,

The general rule of thumb is 65 degree water with some degree of clarity.  Very stained water typically rules out a good top water bite as does very cold water.  I think it's definitely worth a shot but not quite ideal top water conditions yet.  The good thing about Hat and Star is you only need one of those girls to be hungry for it to be the trip of a lifetime.

Best of luck!

Thanks, Jackson. We'll give it our best and let you all know how it goes. Hopefully with photos. ;-))
