We got to the lake to find it iced over on the north end by the dam.  We busted a hole and put out a few decoys but realized at shooting light there was open water on the south end with ducks.  John Hurd put a sneak on them and doubled on Ringnecks.  He then shot a Shoveler and used the kayak to retrieve it.  He should be in the Coast Guard since he busted ice for an hour to retrieve it.  The Ringnecks were unreachable since the fell in the frozen creek and the boat couldn't break the ice and it was too dangerous to send the dog on top of the ice.
