    Yes
Lots of natural food and shallow water on the North side of the lake makes Triple J an attractive place for ducks. This lake holds lots of birds, and is an easy drive from Dallas. Birds tend to prefer the North shore, the NW cove, and the SW corner of the lake near the dam. There is not much cover along the shoreline, so hunting from a blind is recommended. There is a permanent blind on the North side of the lake, or you can bring your own layout blinds. The shoreline of this lake was planted with Japanese Millet in early August.

There is a jon boat available that you may use to set decoys, retrieve birds or cross the lake to reach the blind. No trolling motor, batteries, or paddles are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own.

Please note that you will need to walk through a short distance of shallow water to reach the blind, so waders will be needed.

***DO NOT drive on the West side of the lake or across the dam. Driving is only permitted on the road on the East side of the lake.***

We had quite a few birds flying! Divers on the south end by the dam, and the rest landing on the north east end by the dead trees. We had some good looks for passing shots and a couple singles…

good morning

jason erdman on Nov 25 ,2020

We had A good morning despite being worm and wet.  The ducks were very sporadic, a lot of high flyers with small groups of 2 or 3 giving us some pass shots.
