Requirements

Duck hunting available in AM only.
LODGING NOW AVAILABLE

2018 will be the first time this lake has been hunted as a leased property in more than 2 decades. The owner has duck hunted the property just once or twice each year during this time. The lake has much shallow water and lots of aquatic vegetation to hold puddle ducks and divers.

There is a small jon boat that you may use to retrieve birds or set decoys if you wish. No trolling motor, batteries, or paddles are provided.

Currently, there is no blind for this property.

Please note that we will be duck hunting on two separate lakes on this massive 2500 acre ranch. Your reservation allows you to hunt only one of the lakes. We will likely have someone hunting the other lake at the same time. The lakes are more than a 1 mile apart. On your way down to this lake you will pass the smaller lake that we will be hunting on the right side. Please be respectful of the other party hunting as you pass their lake on the way to yours. Once you enter the property it is a 2.5 mile ride and will likely take you 15 to 20 minutes. Allow yourself some extra time.

General Directions

1.5 hours North of downtown Dallas or downtown fort worth 45 minutes from the mid cities 30 minutes from Denton Speed limited to 20 mph on ranch roads. Please drive slowly through the barn/ work yard area, be cognoscente of your surroundings and drive courteously.

High Fliers

Jonathan Ruckheim on Dec 14 ,2019

A bit over 2 dozen birds were seen in total.  The majority were flying high.  Wind was from the north purportedly at about 5 MPH, but the lake was glassy smooth given it sits low beneath the top of the…
